These hats have been used recently for those with hair loss from chemo treatment or alopecia. Alopecia areata (AA) is a condition affecting humans, in which hair is lost from some or all areas of the body, usually from the scalp. Because it causes bald spots on the scalp, especially in the first stages, it is sometimes called spot baldness,

They are especially nice when they are made from mink or any fur, they are fashionable and elegant.

A turban can be made from a long piece of fabric, I found this You Tube Video showing how to tie one, This is how I wrap my long hair after I get out of the shower with a towel.

What is a Clouche hat?

I recently learned what a clouche hat is. I never knew what to call the low riding hats of the 1920's. I recently watched the "changeling" where I was many of these lovely and I find alluring hats were worn. When I think of the clouche hat I thinks of the image of what we see here. However many hats are termed clouche. I learned from wise geek that

"A clouche hat is a close fitting women's hat with a floppy brim which is designed to be worn low on the forehead. A well designed cloche is structured so that the wearer must tilt her head and peer down her nose to see, giving her a slightly haughty look. Cloche hats were made immensely popular in the 1920s, when they were used to make daring fashion statements, and they experienced a brief period of resurgence at the end of the 20th century. "

Imported from Italy, the classic straw boater hat, in the finest quality available. Sometimes referred to as the straw cadym>. This style was the most popular straw hat during the early 1900's.
Available with 2" brim, and the classic brow/copper club-stripe band. The straw boater is traditionally a very "dressy" men's hat.

A boater (also basher, skimmer, katie, or sennit hat) is a kind of hat associated with sailing and boating.

It is normally made of sennit straw and has a stiff or soft flat crown and brim, typically with a ribbon around the crown, which is often in colours representing a school, rowing crew or similar institution. Boaters were popular as summer headgear in the late 19th century and early 20th century, and were supposedly worn by FBI agents as a sort of unofficial uniform in the pre-war years. Nowadays they are rarely seen except at sailing or rowing events, period theatrical and musical performances (e.g. barbershop music) or as part of old-fashioned school uniform, such as at Harrow School.

Inexpensive foam or plastic skimmers are sometimes seen at political rallies in the United States. [1] [2] [3]

In Australia, New Zealand and South Africa the boater is still a common part of the school uniform in many boys schools, such as Shore School, Knox Grammar School and Maritzburg College.

Being made of straw, the boater was and is generally regarded as a warm-weather hat. In the days when men all wore hats when out of doors, "Straw Hat Day", the day when men switched from wearing their winter hats to their summer hats, was seen as a sign of the beginning of summer. The exact date of Straw Hat Day might vary slightly from place to place. For example, in Philadelphia, it was May 15; at the University of Pennsylvania, it was the second Saturday in May[1].

The boater is a fairly formal hat, equivalent in formality to the Homburg, and so is correctly worn either in its original setting with a blazer, or in the same situations as a Homburg, such as a smart lounge suit, or with black tie. John Jacob Astor IV was known for wearing such hats.

What is a Turban hat? Wikipedi tell us "In Sikhism, a turban is worn by wrapping a fabric of variable length (according to personal preference) over the head. It's like a hat in that it covers the head. But, unlike a hat, it is not removed in public. The reason Sikhs wear turbans is due to their belief of keeping their head covered as a sign of respect (to God). As God is believed to be omnipresent, their head remains covered by the turban at all times. In addition, in Indian history, when Muslim rulers were converting Hindus to Islam by force, Sikhs were helping the Hindus by fighting against this pressure by fighting against the Muslim rulers and their army. It is at this time when the turban was used as a symbol of Sikhism so that a Sikh individual may be easily recognized and to raise pride in their faith and to give them the courage when under pressure to be proud of their origin.
Muslims do wear turbans, too. But, the style of their turbans and manner of wrapping the fabric is distinctly different from that which is worn by Sikhs.
The term "turban" also refers to a woman's hat that is similar in shape to a man's turban. "
